Will Pharmaceutical Companies Be Left After A Hundred Years? I don‘t know if it‘s the time and place, but in the light of Trump‘s statements, after the US withdrew its support for the World Health Organization, I made a #pharmaforum2012 organized by #workshop magazine in 2012 titled “Will Pharmaceutical Companies Remain in 100 Years?
I was reminded of my speech. I include the video of my speech and the summary of it in my book Game Bits below. The entire video talk is at the end. Maybe the world can take steps to turn this unfortunate decision of the USA into an opportunity for everyone!
Will Pharmaceutical Companies Stay in 100 Years? Salim Kadıbeşegil (From the book Game Over 2012) Pharmaforum 2012/Istanbul In some areas, consolidation seems to be inevitable; For example, medication; Will it be the product of a business represented only by companies in this sector, or will we meet another production–distribution organization where pharmaceutical companies are somehow gathered under one “roof“?
There are research and development activities in which this sector transfers billions of dollars every year; qualified human resources in pharmaceutical companies produce great added value; This industry has a history of more than 150 years and high capacity; Can all this not be turned into “profitability“, but into an organization aimed at restoring the health of all people on earth? Suppose all the pharmaceutical companies in the world are gathered under one roof.
Imagine that the intellectual accumulation in these companies, from product development to clinical trials, is managed by a single “organization“ under this roof. So, what will “replace“ when the goal is not the profitability of companies? Very serious problems await the world population, especially AIDS, cancer types and epidemics. Millions of people who do not have the chance to access therapeutic drugs say goodbye to their lives. But just an inch away, drugs are waiting in the warehouses of pharmaceutical companies. Clinical trials are being conducted. But with the drug, patients can‘t get together. The cost of the meeting is increasing unaffordably every year. This century will find a solution to this problem in some way. But first he will have to get out of the “template“.
